Rockstar posted GTA VI: An Extended Look — now playing
On August 27, 2026 Rockstar published Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. It debuted on Netflix, then landed on YouTube and the official GTA VI site six hours later. Rockstar and Netflix both say the footage was captured entirely from in-game PlayStation 5 footage — not a cinematic, not a datamine. Runtime on Netflix is about 27 minutes. That is the longest official look at movement, streets, interiors, and HUD the company has put out.
Preload starts November 12. The boxed copy is a download code, not a disc
Rockstar and Take-Two say digital pre-orders can start pre-loading on November 12, 2026 so the game is ready at launch on November 19. The physical version ships with a download code inside the box to support that same preload window. Rockstar’s store copy is explicit: a disc will not be included. Estimated shipping for the boxed version is also November 12.
Third-party trackers float a 4.6 million pre-order number
Unconfirmed. Do not treat as fact.
After the Extended Look, unofficial analytics accounts and social recaps started quoting roughly 4.6 million pre-orders. The figure jumps between platforms, regions, and “sold vs. wishlist” depending on who is posting it. Rockstar and Take-Two have not published a pre-order total in an earnings call, Newswire post, or store listing.
